Senior Estimator
The Haebler Group, well established, mid-size, award-winning
construction company located in Vancouver, has an exciting opportunity for Senior Estimator. Ideal candidate has
over 10 years of work experience in commercial and residential construction. This
full-time role allows for the opportunity to grow and develop within the
company while being involved in interesting and
rewarding construction projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates with the necessary level of
detail for all design stages: Program/Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design
Development and Construction Documents.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and estimated costs
of materials, labor, and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of
the contract from simple to complex.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and estimates in
detail for self-performed work (Selective demolition, Concrete, steel erection,
carpentry, etc.)
- Prepare general conditions estimates
- Foster relationships with subcontractors and
suppliers
- Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal meetings and
site visits
- Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work
and accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value
- Prepare project bid status reports and ensure
compliance with all specifications and contract Statements of Work and Bid
Invitations
- Present cost estimates to meet customer
proposals, providing consideration for general and special conditions
- Prepare scope specifications and requirements,
prepare and inputs project schedules, perform quantity takeoffs, prepare cost
summary sheets, and input quantities into estimating software
Skills and Requirements:
- 7-10 years Related Estimating Experience
- Advanced project estimator skills that include
performing engineering calculations, being conversant in engineering vernacular
to effectively communicate with Application Engineers, Project Managers, and vendors
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read, understand and organize
construction plans and specifications
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimal
structure while exercising great judgment
- Strong Ability to multitask, prioritize, and
work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
